The other night, I was invited to the home of the British Deputy Ambassor for a preview screening of a short film series on the Falkland Islands. I learned 3 things:
- Being in a city of important people, DC residents can easily find themselves in interesting situations.
- British people are very cool, and are exactly how Harry Potter films always told me they'd be.
- When I tell people I'm from Travel Channel, their first question will always be, "So, do you travel a lot?"(No.)
So, feeling terribly out of place, I made it my mission to Instagram the British Deputy Ambassor's home.
But I also noticed something else while milling about DC's British elite and the producers of PBS' NewsHour: pattern mixing is definitely a thing, but it is not always done well.
